Three people are dead and six are seriously injured after being involved in an accident on Interstate 95 in Orangeburg County.
According to South Carolina Highway Patrol, the accident happened around 10:25 a.m. on March 5, 2014, near the 85 mile marker in the northbound lanes of I-95.
A tractor trailer involved in the accident is said to have been parked on the side of the highway when the driver of an SUV hit the rear side of the tractor trailer.
There were a total of eight people in the SUV.
Three people died due to the accident and six others were taken to nearby hospitals with various injuries that were found to be serious.
